On March 24, 2023 at 11:30 PM the Pineville Police Department received a report of a pedestrian hit by a car on the Purple Heart Bridge.
Responding officers located a fatally struck female pedestrian on the bridge. Initial indications are the pedestrian stepped into the travel lane and was struck by a single vehicle.
